Volkswagen ID 2 (PS: Volkswagen)
Volkswagen Recently introduced the concept of ID 2 electric car. A smaller battery pack will be used in this EV. There will be three versions of this EV in the global market but in the Indian market it will come only as an entry level model. This electric car will be built on the MEB front-wheel drive platform.
The VW ID 2 electric car could be a compact SUV and measure over 4 metres. According to the reports, Volkswagen will manufacture this car in India only. Its sale is expected to start after 2025. Once launched, Volkswagen’s electric car will compete with Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV.
Volkswagen D 2 electric car range
At present, not much detail is available about Volkswagen’s upcoming electric car. The company claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7 seconds. At the same time, its motor will generate power of 226PS. The range of this electric car is expected to be around 450 kms.
Volkswagen D 2 Electric Car Battery Pack
According to reports, a 57kWh battery pack can be found in this Volkswagen ID 2. It will take 20 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent.
Volkswagen ID4 electric car will also be launched in India
Volkswagen is also in the process of bringing the Volkswagen ID4 electric crossover for the Indian market. The company has also started testing for this. A 77kWh battery pack will be given in this electric car and it will be connected to a rear-mount electric motor. This setup will generate 204bhp power and 310Nm torque. Once it is fully charged, it can get a range of up to 520 km.
This electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds. According to reports, its battery pack can be fully charged in 30 minutes with a 125kW DC charger.
