Weather Update: The weather forecast for today and the upcoming days indicates the possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Kerala and Mahe. Cyclone Biparjoy is likely to reach the coast of India in a couple of days and enhance the monsoon activity from hereon. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in isolated locations across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Meanwhile, thunderstorms and lightning are anticipated in scattered areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep.
In terms of temperature, some regions in Bihar are likely to experience heatwave to severe heatwave conditions. Furthermore, isolated pockets in Uttar Pradesh, Northeast Jharkhand, West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Rayalaseema could also face heatwave conditions. The maximum temperatures are expected to soar above 40°C in Gujarat, Thar Desert, plains of the North, NCR (National Capital Region), and the eastern half of the subcontinent, excluding Northeast India.

Delhi
IMD has forecast sunny and clear weather for the national capital. Furthermore, the weather department has not issued any relief alert either i.e. this trend is likely to continue for a few days more. For today, the maximum temperature will be 41 degrees while the minimum will be 28 degrees.
Mumbai
Mumbai and its suburbs will continue to experience sunny weather today. However, periodic patches of clouds are likely in the morning and in the evening. The maximum temperature for today will be 33 degrees while the minimum will stand at 29 degrees. Humidity will be at 75% while rains are predicted for the region from Monday.
Chennai
As per the latest weather update, Chennai will experience mostly cloudy weather today. Meanwhile, rains and thunderstorms will lash the city in the afternoon. The maximum temperature for today will be 37 degrees while the minimum will stand at 29 degrees. Humidity will be at 55%.

Kolkata
Weather forecast for Kolkata is similar as well. The day will begin with clouds taking on the city while isolated thunderstorms will lash the region from the noon. The maximum temperature for today will be 38 degrees while the minimum will stand at 27 degrees. Humidity will be at 77%.
