Infrastructure development and investment in India will be the main focus areas of the government over the next 25 years as the country hopes to emerge as a developed nation by 2047, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told business leaders in Japan during a visit. There are several factors in its favor which will help in making up for the lost opportunities of the past and achieving the goal of a developed nation. The achievement achieved by the Japanese economy after the devastation in the Second World War has become an inspiration for other countries. Sitharaman is currently on a two-day visit to Japan from Thursday to attend the Finance and Central Bank Governors’ meeting.

Infrastructure, both physical and digital, domestic and foreign investment, use of innovation and technology in people’s lives and ensuring that every citizen benefits from development are focus areas for India.
