New Delhi: The first champion team of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) has been announced. After a series of 22 matches in 23 days, Mumbai Indians won the first title of WPL. Mumbai, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, captured the championship by defeating Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in the final held on Sunday, 26 March. With this, on one hand, Harmanpreet Kaur ended her losing streak against veteran Australian captain Meg Lanning of Delhi. At the same time, Nate Siver-Brunt, who was the star of this match, also took his old revenge from Lanning.
In the final played at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, Delhi batted first and scored 131 runs in 20 overs by opening 9 wickets. In response, Mumbai won the title with the match by 7 wickets after losing 3 wickets in 19.3 overs. The star of Mumbai’s victory was England’s veteran all-rounder Nat Siever-Brunt, who was bought by Mumbai in the auction for Rs 3.20 crore and was the most expensive player of the team.

In this entire tournament, Nat Siever-Brunt scored 332 runs in 10 innings and was second only to Meg Lanning. He hit 3 half-centuries. Apart from this, he also contributed significantly by taking 10 wickets in 10 innings, while also taking 4 catches.,
