RCB vs MI: The captain is expected to lead the team from the front but Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma failed miserably in his first match of IPL-2023 and could not take advantage of the lifeline.

Bangalore: The last season of Mumbai Indians was very bad. This team was at the last position in the points table. This kind of performance is not expected from five-time winner Mumbai, but last year Mumbai could not do anything. This team is expected to show old colors in IPL-2023. It is also expected that the captain of this team, Rohit Sharma, will cross because he is counted among the best batsmen of the present time. However, the captain has disappointed in the first match of the season. Rohit also got a chance to play long innings in this match but he could not succeed.
Rohit did not appear in the colors for which he is famous. Runs were not coming out of his bat. Alam was that the captain of Mumbai faced 10 balls and scored only one run. He got out and left the team disappointed. Rohit was expected to give a good start to the team, which he failed to deliver.

Could not take advantage of life donation
It was difficult for Rohit to score runs but luck gave him a chance. Rohit also missed a catch. Even after this, he could not play a big innings and got out early. Mohammad Siraj was throwing the fifth over of Mumbai’s innings. Siraj bowled a bouncer which was pulled by Rohit but could not take the ball in the middle of the bat. The ball took the top edge of the bat and went in the air. Siraj ran away and tried to catch the ball and from the other side wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik also tried to take the catch. But in this attempt, both clashed and that is why the catch was missed. Here Rohit got life.
However, Rohit got out in the next over. Rohit was dismissed by Akashdeep on the second ball of the sixth over. Akashdeep bowled the ball outside off stump which Rohit tried to play. The ball took the edge of the bat and went to wicketkeeper Karthik who made no mistake in taking the catch.

Rohit has had a poor start to the IPL but his poor form continues at the international level. Rohit’s bat did not yield runs in the recent ODI series played against Australia. He could not cross the figure of 50 even once in three ODIs. His bat did not work even in the Test series. Here too, he could not score a half-century even once after the first match. He definitely played an innings of 101 runs in Nagpur.
