New Delhi: Rajasthan’s ‘local’ ran on Chennai track and MS Dhoni’s team lost. Obviously after reading so much you must have got thinking. But, before you get too entangled, let us tell you that here running on the local track does not mean any train nor the tracks. We have just used these words for the pitch of Chennai and the local boy who has added spice to the victory of Rajasthan Royals against CSK.
Chepauk in Chennai may be the home ground of CSK. It is considered his fort. But, just like Abhimanyu knew the skill of breaking doors in Mahabharata, in the same way, Ashwin, a local boy in Rajasthan Royals, also knew very well how to win his fort from CSK in the battle of IPL.

First swung the bat, then attacked the ball
Rajasthan Royals managed to script their victory against Chennai Super Kings as local boy Ashwin put up a stellar performance. His performance left an impact in the match, for which he was adjudged Player of the Match.
Now the question is whether Ashwin did this? So the answer is his all-round game shown with ball and bat. Rajasthan Royals batted first against Chennai Super Kings and scored 175 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In this, Ashwin played his role by scoring 30 runs in 22 balls. He scored these runs while batting at number 5.
This was the first chapter of Ashwin’s performance. He wrote the second chapter with the ball, breaking the back of the CSK middle order. Ashwin took only 2 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. But, one of these wickets was of the batsman who laid the foundation for CSK’s victory in the last match. Ashwin once again proved his superiority over Rahane in T20 cricket by taking his wicket. Apart from this, he took another wicket of Shivam Dubey.
‘Local boy’ shines in Chennai, sparks RR’s victory
Ashwin showed with his performance that Chepauk may be the stronghold of CSK, but being from Chennai, he also has a lot of understanding of his stronghold, which benefited both him and Rajasthan Royals. The amazing result done with both ball and bat was that Ashwin was selected as the player of the match. This is his fourth player of the match title after IPL 2019. The surprising thing is that before IPL 2019, he had only one Player of the Match award.
