Pankaj Kapur on Bheed Movie: The black and white film ‘Bheed’ made on the lockdown under the direction of Anubhav Sinha is in discussion these days. Ever since the trailer of the film has been released, talks have started about it. Both types of opinion have been seen regarding the film. While some are praising it, some people have also been seen criticizing this film.
Some people even termed this film as Anti India. Now the statement of the film’s actor Pankaj Kapoor has come on these criticisms. He said in one of his recent interviews that people should first watch the film and then share their opinion.
On the negative reaction to the trailer, Pankaj Kapur said, “You must realize that in our society, which you see in our films, monsoon is announced even before a single drop of rain. We are very impatient and give opinion on everything. It’s okay to be patient and say let’s see what’s going on, let’s jump right into it.”
‘First watch the film’
Pankaj Kapur says, “You can give opinion, but first watch the film. It is absurd that a small teaser…(released) and you started saying it is a political film. It is an analytical film which talks about our society, how we think, how we react in any situation. Very few films show authority in such a positive sense as shown in this film.
The film shows the migration in lockdown
Artists like Rajkumar Rao, Bhumika Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Virendra Saxena, Aditya Srivastava, Kritika Kamra and Karan Pandit have been seen in the crowd. Pankaj Kapur has played the role of a watchman in the film, who is forced to leave the city due to the lockdown caused by Corona virus. In the film, during the Corona lockdown, the issue of lakhs of people moving from cities to villages, police atrocities, discrimination on the basis of caste and religion has been raised. Many important issues have been seen in the trailer.
On the scene of the crowd refusing to take food from a Muslim man in the trailer, Pankaj Kapur said, “When you watch the film, you will know that it has been shown differently. He (Anubhav Sinha) has used it as a point of view which exists. But there is another point of view, which has been included in the film. When you watch the film, you will know that humans are humans after all and all are equal.
Crowd is produced by T-Series and Banaras Mediaworks. It will be released in theaters on 24 March 2023.
