These days the Shivraj Singh government of Madhya Pradesh is trying to restore old identity to many cities. Along with getting recognition, the government seems to be coming into election mode as well. The names of many cities have been changed and some are about to be changed. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has currently renamed the city. That city is Nasrullaganj. After getting the seal from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the name of this city is now bhairunda Will happen. Shivraj government has also issued its notification.
Why name changed?
Historians say that Nasrullaganj has been related to the Nawab family of Bhopal. Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum had three sons – Hamidullah Khan, Obaidullah Khan and Nasrullah Khan. He had given his property to his three sons. The son to whom the manor was given, the place there was known by his name. This was the reason that the place given to Nasrullah Khan in the jagir was also named as Nasrullaganj.
What is the history of Bhaironda?
Before 1908, the name of this place was not Nasrullaganj but Bhairunda. This fact has also been revealed from the gazette of the princely state of Bhopal. It is said that this name was kept on the basis of the special community and public faith there. According to the information, Bhairu Dev Maharaj is the worshiper of most of the people there. The local residents have deep faith in them. This is the reason that later this place was called Bhairunda in common parlance. But after coming under Nasrullah Khan, its name was changed to Nasrullaganj.
The government had announced two years ago
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced to change the name of this city in the year 2021 itself and restore the name Bhairunda. After which he also got the support of the local public. But the process was getting delayed. There was also resentment about this delay. Now after formally changing the name, the decision is being welcomed.
Many cities have been renamed
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has changed the names of many cities and places in the past. For example, Habibganj railway station has now become Rani Kamlapati railway station, Hoshangabad Narmadapuram and Bhopal’s Islamnagar Jagdishpur. Even many areas like Birsinghpur Pali Maa Birasini Dham, Babai Makhannagar and Bhopal’s Minto Hall have become Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center.
Apart from this, the state government is also trying to change the name of Dumna Airport located in Jabalpur. Shivraj government has sent a proposal to name this airport Rani Durgavati.
