Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for intense rainfall in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalaya West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya until August 23rd. The weather department anticipates heightened rainfall in the eastern and northeastern regions of India starting from August 21st. Additionally, it has projected that subdued rainfall conditions are expected to persist in the southern parts of Peninsular India and Gujarat over the next three to five days.

Over the upcoming three days, there’s a projection of light to moderate, fairly widespread rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Isolated instances of heavy rainfall are also expected, with Uttarakhand being affected. On August 22nd, East Uttar Pradesh will experience similar weather conditions, and Himachal Pradesh as well as West Uttar Pradesh can anticipate them from August 21st to 23rd.

These comparable circumstances are anticipated to impact Odisha on August 19th, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim from August 22nd to 23rd, and Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh spanning August 19th to 23rd. Maximum temperatures in Peninsula India and adjacent regions are predicted to be above to well above normal, while most parts of the subcontinent are expected to maintain near-normal mercury levels over several days. Throughout this projected period, minimum temperatures across India are forecasted to remain close to or slightly above normal.

Delhi

The national capital & its adjoining regions are forecast to remain partly cloudy in the morning. Isolated regions could experience scattered thunderstorms while the sky would also turn mostly cloudy from the evening. For today, the maximum temperature will be 36 degrees while the minimum will be 28 degrees with humidity at 72%.

Mumbai

IMD has forecast scattered showers in the morning for Mumbai. However, the day would clear out from thereon and the sky will remain predominantly partly-cloudy. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with humidity at 78%.

Chennai

As per the latest weather update, Chennai is forecast to remain partly cloudy for the entire day. The chances of rain happening are close to nil. For today, the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with humidity at 80%.

Kolkata

Kolkata is likely to wake up with mostly cloudy sky in the morning. Scattered thunderstorms will lash the region from noon onwards. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with humidity at 87%.
