Jeep took back 58,000 models of this car, due to the defect, there could be a big problem

Jeep has recalled 57,885 units of the Wrangler SUV in the US. These vehicles were manufactured between October 2019 and May 2022. There are some issues with the affected models. Due to these, in case of an accident, fuel can leak and then a big fire can happen. Jeep will inspect all the recalled models and remove the defective component free of cost.

What’s the problem with the trains?

The problem lies with the frum studs, which are made by Metalsa SA de CV, based in Mexico. Jeep worked with the company to find out which models were affected and then decided to recall them. So far no information about any accident or injury has been received.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) believes that this defect may be present in about 58 percent of the recalled vehicles.

How to get your vehicle inspected?

If you too suspect that your Wrangler is suffering from this problem, contact your nearest Jeep dealership. The company has not mentioned the prescribed Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) of the vehicles in the recall documents. The company will inspect the car and remove frame studs if required and apply paint if required. Vehicle owners will be reimbursed for the cost of additional repairs. However, they will have to show the correct proof of payment for the same.

The Jeep Wrangler will feature a large grille with vertical slats, circular LED headlights, fog lamps, LED taillights, 17-inch alloy wheels, side stampers. At the same time, five seats, auto climate control, USB charger, cruise control and 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be present inside the vehicle. Along with this, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will also be provided. It will also have multiple airbags and ADAS suite. These safety features are given in the car.

In the US, prices for the Jeep Wrangler SUV start at $31,195 (roughly Rs. 25.7 lakhs). At the same time, the price of this vehicle in India starts from Rs. 59.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
