According to the Health Ministry data, the positivity rate in Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Goa is more than eight percent. Maharashtra (8.32), Himachal Pradesh (8.66) and Goa have 9.52 percent. This means that in these three states, more than 8 people are getting infected per 100 Kovid tests, while till a week ago the infection rate in these three states was less than five percent. But now the spread of the virus is increasing rapidly.

Cases of new variants are also increasing

Cases of Omicron’s XBB.1.16 sub-variant are also increasing in these states. Maximum cases of this variant are being registered in Maharashtra. There have been 105 cases in Maharashtra and 57 in Karnataka. The cases of this variant are increasing continuously. Although experts say that there is no serious threat from the XBB.1.16 variant. Its symptoms are mild. Respiratory problems are not seen in any patient. Dr. Randeep Guleria, former director of AIIMS, says that the virus of Kovid is constantly changing. New variants are coming from this, but in the last one year different strains of Omicron are coming, which are not more contagious. In such a situation, there is no need to panic.

People are advised to wear a mask and avoid going out without a mask. Elderly and patients suffering from any other disease should take special care of this.
