Hyundai Motors Rural Plan: HMIL said it will collaborate with ITC’s Choupal Sagar and e-Choupal platforms in rural areas.
Hyundai Motor India Limited has partnered with the agribusiness segment of ITC, a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) maker, to strengthen its brand presence in rural markets.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) said in a statement on Tuesday, under this partnership, the vehicle manufacturer will use all its models on ITC’s extensive agriculture and rural platforms to increase brand recognition in rural areas.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect has been signed between the two companies. HMIL said it will collaborate with ITC’s Choupal Sagar and e-Choupal platforms in rural areas. Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, said, “The objective of this collaboration is to strengthen the reach of the HMIL brand and connect with potential customers in the hinterland of the country.
47 percent contribution from villages
He said that similar to the total market in India, the rural segment also contributed more than 47 percent to the total sales of HMIL. In this, the company’s compact SUV Venue is at the forefront with a contribution of 24 percent. It was followed by mid-size SUV Creta with a share of 23 per cent. Rajinikanth Rai, divisional chief executive, agriculture business segment, ITC Ltd, said the partnership with Hyundai will help farmers grow by leveraging the ITC e-Choupal and ITCMARS ecosystem. Hyundai Motor India said that through this partnership it will conduct various programs and activities at Chopal Sagar- Integrated Rural Service Center of ITC in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. In fact, Hyundai Motors now wants to strengthen its hold in the villages. For this, she is working on taking forward her project by partnering with a giant like ITC.
