The online registration for Civil Services Pre Exam usually starts in February every year. You can submit the application through upsc.gov.in. While filling the form, you should fill your information according to the Aadhaar card and academic document so that there is no further problem. After filling the IAS form, your prelims exam is conducted. This year i.e. 2023 prelims exam is scheduled on 28th May.
The Prelims consists of two papers, each carrying 200 marks. First General Studies and second C-SAT. Objective type questions are asked in this exam, one-third of the marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Therefore, if you know the correct answer to the question then only you should answer it. Here there is a possibility of the game going one way or the other.
Only those who pass the pre exam can participate in the mains. There are four question papers of General Studies, which are called paper one, two, three and four respectively. There are two question papers of the optional subject. Apart from this, there is a separate question paper for essay. English language and another Indian language exam are also part of the mains, though both of these are qualifying papers. Their numbers are not added to the merit. In this way, a total of nine papers are given by the youth in Mains. Successful candidates in the main examination are called for interview.
When is UPSC interview?
After achieving success in all the stages of the examination taken by UPSC, the merit list is drawn by the commission, on the basis of which the candidates will be selected for which post. IAS rank is given to the top candidates in the merit list, rest all other posts are distributed on the basis of vacancy and merit. According to the notification of Civil Services Pre, this time a total of 21 posts will be recruited through this exam.
