IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals’ star batsman Jos Buttler, who scored the most runs in the last season, made a bang in IPL 2023 as well, but this time he was seen struggling completely in front of Mohammed Shami’s balls.

Ahmedabad: Jos Buttler, the star batsman of Rajasthan Royals, has maintained his charm in IPL 2023 like last season. In this season too, the veteran batsman of England has blown away the bowlers for Rajasthan with his explosive batting. Yet sometimes the hunter also becomes the hunted. Something similar has happened with Butler as well. Butler became so helpless in front of Gujarat Titans star fast bowler Mohammed Shami that after 7 years he did not get a chance to score a single run in IPL.
Gujarat and Rajasthan clashed in last season’s final in Ahmedabad in which Hardik Pandya’s team won the title by defeating Sanju Samson’s team. After about a year, both the teams again settled on this ground. This time Rajasthan was expected to make a strong comeback and the command of this expectation was in the hands of Butler who was continuously batting well.

Now if any team has to keep their hopes alive against Rajasthan, then it is necessary to get Butler out early. This task is not that easy but experienced pacer Mohammed Shami did it in just 5 balls, that too without conceding any runs. Shami started troubling Butler from the very first over.

Butler could not take any runs on the last two balls of the first over. Then Shami returned again in the third over and then Butler came on strike. Butler could not do anything in the third and fourth ball of this over. Butler was so forced that on the fifth ball he tried to play a ramp shot behind the wicket but was defeated by the accurate line and pace. His off-stump was uprooted and fell several meters away.
Butler’s bad condition after 7 years
In this way, Butler’s journey of only 5 balls ended. Out of these 5 balls, he could bat only on two but could not even open his account. In this season, Butler was dismissed without scoring for the first time. The surprising thing is that in his IPL career, Butler has been dismissed without opening the account only for the second time. Earlier in 2016, he was dismissed for a duck in his debut match.
