In an interview, he told about that incident that about 50 years ago, when he was in seventh grade, a female relative had sexually assaulted him.

Talking about this incident, Piyush Mishra said, “I was taken aback. It happened at such a young age, in seventh grade. Surprised what happened? Your first contact with sex should be good, otherwise it gets marked on your psyche for the whole life, it creates some disturbances. That was the first time. I had to face the first sexual assault…it took me a long time to recover from it.
Piyush Mishra says that he has only changed the names and kept the truth in his book published by Rajkamal Prakashan, because revenge was not his aim. Piyush Mishra has written this novel on his journey from the narrow streets of Gwalior to Delhi’s Mandi House and Mumbai.
Piyush Mishra was interested in art since childhood
Hailing from a middle-class family in Gwalior, Piyush Mishra was vocal since childhood and turned into a prolific artist by turning to instrumental music, paintings, sculptures, poetry and theatre.
Piyush Mishra has written, composed and sung for films like “Gulal” and “Gangs of Wasseypur”. His debut song “Ghar”, “When the City Sleeps”, written for a theatrical adaptation of West Side Story, and “Husna”, were later performed by the international music franchise Coke Studio.
