Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge’s ‘Snake’ Remark over PM Modi Sparks Controversy in Karnataka

Karnataka elections 2023: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a deadly snake in Karnataka’s Gadag, infuriating the BJP. “Modi resembles a poisonous snake. If you lick it whether you realise it’s poison or not, you’ll die. You could wonder if this is poison. Modi is a decent man. He’s given it to us, and we’ll see what happens. If you lick it, you’ll be completely asleep,” Kharge explained.

Amit Malviya Tweet on Kharge

In response to the remarks, Amit Malviya, the BJP’s IT cell chief, said the “desperation” demonstrated that the Congress is losing Karnataka and that the party is aware of it. Amit Malviya Tweeted, “Now Congress President Kharge calls Prime Minister Modi ‘poisonous snake’… What started with Sonia Gandhi’s ‘maut ka saudagar’, and we know how it ended, the Congress continues to plummet to new depths. The desperation shows Congress is losing ground in Karnataka and knows it.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party is like a snake-Kharge

Faced with backlash for his remarks, Kharge clarified, saying, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is like a snake.” If you try to lick, you will eventually die. I didn’t mention him (Prime Minister Modi). I don’t make personal assertions. I mean, their philosophy is like a serpent. If you try to lick, you will perish.”
