Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Approves Water Projects Worth Crores

Punjab News: Projects costing Rs. 165.53 crore have been approved by Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide clean drinking water to rural areas. Through these initiatives, the state’s villages along the border as well as other districts’ water quality will improve, and wherever there is a water deficit or scarcity, a plentiful supply of water will be secured.

More information was provided by Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa, who said that 4 projects of this nature have been given the go-ahead under various programmes that will supply clean, potable water. He stated that it is planned to finish 63 schemes in 16 districts in 2023–2024 for a total of Rs. 55.83 crore. Out of these 16 districts, six border districts—Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Fazilka, and Ferozepur—have also been added.

Similarly, Jimpa noted, 181 new initiatives in 21 districts are being built or refurbished at a cost of Rs 55.61 crore. The project will be finished before to March 2024. Additionally, he stated that seven districts are currently the subject of work that will be finished in 2023–2024 at a cost of Rs. 40.35 crore. Jimpa stated that the project, which will cost Rs. 13.74 crore and involve the installation of 103 new tubewells in 16 districts, will be finished by March 2024. “We’ve included 3 border districts Pathankot, Ferozepur and Fazilka in this project, he said.” According to Jimpa, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has frequently stated that the Punjab Government’s top goal is to develop villages and provide them with all types of amenities, and that the Water Supply and Sanitation department is doing everything in its power to keep this commitment.
