Delhi: In cricket, how one catch can decide the condition and direction of the whole match, it was seen in the test being played between South Africa and West Indies. The first Test is being played between the two teams in Centurion, in which South Africa decided to bat first after winning the toss on the first day. The hosts started with a bang. The opening pair of Dean Elgar and Aidan Markram had done a century partnership for the team. The match was completely in the hands of the hosts. But then comes that catch which turns the match.
The score of the South African team had just reached 141 runs without losing any wicket. Dean Elgar was playing after scoring 71 runs and at the other end Aiden Markram was also unbeaten after scoring a big 60 runs. Meanwhile, Alzarri Joseph brought his next over and the pair broke up.

took the match-changing catch
Dean Elgar took a catch in Alzarri Joseph’s over, which was not easy to catch. But, if the trend of the match was to be reversed, then this catch had to be taken, which was done very well by the West Indies fielder Blackwood. Turning backwards, he jumped in the air and grabbed the catch.
The 141-run partnership broke with this catch. Dean Elgar had to return to the pavilion only on 71 runs. This was the first blow to South Africa in the first innings of this Test.
